Next-gen fitness tracker is teased by Huawei ahead of launch
The Huawei Band 9 has been officially teased and confirmed by Huawei ahead of release, giving us our best look yet at the upcoming fitness tracker.
In the last few weeks, the activity band had been uncovered in various certification databases, which pointed to an impending announcement, but now we know for sure the Band 9 is coming soon.
Huawei posted a quick ‘coming soon’ trailer for the Band 9 on X, shown below, but that’s all the official word we have to go off at this stage. Release date info, new features, and price details for the Band 8 successor remain scarce.

Thankfully, we do also have some leaks to plug in these gaps.
According to Roland Quandt, also on X, the Band 9 will feature a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a 368 x 194 pixel resolution, while also boasting a 180mAh battery unit and 5ATM water resistance.
As Quandt indicates, this is a virtually identical set of specs to the Band 8. And, at least based on the leaked images seen below, Huawei hasn’t made any other changes to the case or outward design.

The Band 9 in Huawei’s teaser features a sleep-tracking watch face, which could hint at new software features debuting on the tracker, but nobody appears sure at this stage.
Stay tuned for more on this one over the coming weeks – last year’s Band 8 was fully unveiled and released in the company’s native China last April, so we likely don’t have too long to wait now.
